It's Science!


Did you know that when you add raw garlic to an acid, it turns blue/green?

It does.  I discovered this while making a spicy pineapple vinegar to go with some shrimp & white bean cakes.  Not being very well versed in the science, it is best I just cut & paste rather than try to explain the reason for this phenomenon:

  3. OMG that's awesome. Chemistry was my subject!This would make a great chemistry foodie lesson! Or perhaps a HS chemistry experiment or science fair project.

    Not too appealing on the plate I must admit. Unless of course you served blue jello or something bright for dessert. A Psychedelic Dinner lol
